Hi, I’m Ami!!
16th December was my mother’s birthday.
Since it is a special day for my mum, I decided to take her to my special place.
Organic Cafe “SHIFUKU”
It takes about 2~3hours on freeway from my place.
Not close at all, but it worth visiting for me.
A really special place.
The entrance reminds me my grandparents house.
A wooden cozy door.
With a warm stove and a rocking chair.
from the left ; A Chinese cabbage soup、Grandpa’s SWEET pumpkin grilled with honey&spice、Sesame flavored raddish、Veggie spring roll、Organic brown rice.
A sauce only made from taro veggie gratin！！
Amazingly most of the food are grown by Mr & Mrs SETO.
Mrs Set & my mum.
She explains the dishes.
These two dishes were the ones that I really wanted to try!
Grilled Apple with rice ice-cream
Amazake (rice sake)
Amazake is a non alcohol drink that is popular in Japanese winter.
Especially this Amazake is only made from rice and koji.
Though it is really sweet and very tasty!
The miso and rice are also grown by Mr&Mrs SETO.
This time it was for my mum’s birthday so I ordered a special surprise for her.
And that is this birthday cake!
Only made from Rice, Greentea and Tofu.
To my surprise, the food itself was so sweet that you could never tell it is made from those organic ingredients.
Since I was an anorexic, it might be only me, but I take a great care about food.
WHAT I eat and HOW I eat and WHO I eat.
It is like tasting the time as well as the dishes.
Which means even if it was a junk food, if the time that I spent was precious, it will turn to be a really healthy meal. On the other hand, if the time was unfortunate no matter what I eat the food turns to be unfortunate as well.
Of course this is my point of view and not for everybody.
But in many cases mind and body is very related.
I prefer to fulfill my heart than my appetite.
If your heart is filled, calorie is not a deal.
I figured out from my experience recovering from an eating disorder.
Here, in Shifuku is what I call a meal to fill your heart.
Each food has it’s own power and the way they cook, is just right for the food to meet its very best. So they just need the least flavor.
Therefore it doesn’t become a burden to your body.
I really recommend Shifuku’s meal to someone like me who cares about your diet,
but also who needs rest and want to heal your mind and body.
I am sure you will come back to yourself.
